Superpedestrian's Fleet Management System served a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the company, serving as the primary internal tool for central operations.
My Role
As Product Manager and UX Designer for the tool, I worked closely with our multidisciplinary team to take new features and iterative improvements from conception to launch. I conducted research, user interviews, managed internal onboarding, and worked closely with teams across the business to ensure capabilities aligned with rapidly changing needs.
Product
The Fleet Management System was supported a variety of workflows. Primary functions included:

Fleet Creation and Maintenance: The 'Fleet Settings' dashboards allowed operations users to launch new fleets of vehicles as well as configure fleet attributes to abide by internal operations and business needs, as well as abide by local regulations and initiatives.

Geofence Creation & OTA Tooling: Dedicated geofence tooling allowed operations to regularly update geofence files specific to fleets (and groups of fleets), influencing the behaviors of vehicles contained within. Related but separate tooling allowed for geofence and firmware updates to be sent over the air to vehicles to ensure up-to-date vehicle behavior.

Vehicle Diagnostics: Empowered operations users to track and diagnose in-field vehicle behavior and determine maintenance needs using data provided by Superpedestrian's onboard Vehicle Intelligence (VI) operating system.

CRM Tooling: Customer Support tooling allowed support teams to quickly diagnose customer issues and perform related account management tasks. Tooling shared by market operations and marketing allowed globally distributed teams to collaborate and implement fleet-specific marketing and promotional initiatives.
