Industrial variants of Cannabis Sativa integrated with traditional crop rotations.

About the Project
Originally completed as an independent studio project at Northeastern University, this project examined the emerging landscape of Cannabis cultivation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The line of inquiry led to the examination of development projections as well as the potential for the cultivation of industrial hemp to be used as a means to combat the net carbon effect of ongoing deforestation in the Commonwealth. After examining the political and spatial implications of the then-recent statewide legalization of Cannabis Sativa, the report goes on to explore various cultivation methodologies and potential market for hemp-based materials and byproducts.

The pages below reflect a summary of the final recommendation scenarios from the project, which focused on potential crop rotation scenarios to match three distinct carbon scenarios.
